Can I receive exceptions from the Container Tracking service?
Yes, the Container Tracking service supports exception handling via both push and pull. Exceptions are asynchronous and would normally require an action and can be used to implement Management by Exception. All exception types are handled as ENUMS making integration and logic-switching easy.
We support exceptions on both transport and equipment/container-ID level. Exceptions are divided into Warnings and Final Notifications.
An example of Exception Notifications on transport level would be to inform you when we cannot locate the transport identifier (container-ID, B/L, Booking Number) you provided to us with when creating the transport.
An example of Exception Notifications on equipment level would be a notification of a prediction from the OceanIO that has changed and it has been longer than 24 hours since last prediction.
